These roll ups are perfect for parties, game days, or anytime you’re craving a quick and flavorful snack. With a blend of creamy, cheesy, and spicy flavors, these roll ups are always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade taco seasoning)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (optional)
  • 1/2 cup salsa (optional)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Ingredient Highlights

  • Cream Cheese: Adds creaminess and richness to the filling, making the roll ups soft and flavorful.
  • Taco Seasoning: The taco seasoning mix infuses the cream cheese with the classic taco flavor, making these roll ups instantly recognizable and delicious.
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese: Adds a melty, cheesy texture and flavor that pairs perfectly with the creamy filling.
  • Sour Cream: Provides a tangy and smooth component that enhances the creaminess of the filling.

Instructions

Prepare the Filling:

  1. Mix the Filling: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, taco seasoning, shredded cheddar cheese, and sour cream. Stir until well blended. If you’re adding lime juice, salsa, green onions, or cilantro, fold those in at this stage.
  2. Spread the Mixture: Lay out the tortillas on a flat surface. Evenly spread a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture onto each tortilla, covering it all the way to the edges.

Roll and Slice the Tortillas:

  1. Roll Up the Tortillas: Starting at one edge, carefully roll each tortilla tightly with the filling inside. Make sure to roll them as tightly as possible so they hold together well when sliced.
  2. Slice the Roll Ups: Use a sharp knife to slice each rolled tortilla into 1-inch slices. Arrange the slices on a platter for serving.

Chill and Serve:

  1. Chill: Place the roll ups in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes to allow the filling to set and make them easier to slice.
  2. Serve: Serve the roll ups cold or at room temperature. If desired, garnish with extra cilantro or a drizzle of salsa.
